ECHO is the European Union's Directorate for Humanitarian Aid, one of the largest sources of humanitarian aid in the world. Its partners include the United Nations, the Red Cross and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
As from 2002, our Firm has been involved in audits commissioned by ECHO, concerning Greek NGOs, as well as other beneficiaries from various European Union countries.
The audits which we have executed so far, in our on-going appointment by ECHO, have as follows:
March 2002 (duration 2002-2006)
This was the first time such audits were outsourced by ECHO and its success led to its adoption as a permanent policy for the years to come.
July 2006 (duration 2006-2011)
During our appointment as auditors regarding the above assignments (2002-2006) and (2006-2011), we have audited a total of 58 projects concerning expenses amounting to € 23,500,000.
May 2017 (duration 2017-2021)
During this appointment, we have audited so far four projects in Greece, Cyprus and Croatia, concerning expenses amounting to € 2,074,000.
At the same time, we have audited four NGOs active in Greece which have received funding under the EU’s immigration policy.
